[...] From syntactic gymnastics to dy/dan, from TMAO to the reflective teacher, it seems like we’re all getting poured on by a storm of students. Personally, I’m just ready for school to be over with and that makes it twice as hard to keep on with all the things I know to be effective. It’s tough work, day in and day out, and pretty difficult to stay motivated when the warm weather is having the same crazy-making effects on me as it is on the students. On top of that, we’re done with the state tests which theoretically should make me happy to be free to teach all those things I didn’t have time for. In reality, it just makes me feel like the rest of the year doesn’t matter. [...]

I'm a latecomer to The Office, but I was rolling on the floor laughing, as they say, when I saw that opening segment last week. And I, too, thought of just how many demerits would add up to that disciplinary hearing (much less a disadjulation!!!!!!).

[Why the heck do they run that show during such odd times? I don't know about you Pacific Daylight Timers, but here in the east it ran from like 8:42 until 9:17, which wasn't even exactly a half hour block!]
