					<description><![CDATA[When I do this activity (transitioning from stacked bar to pie) with my 6th graders, I have them cut out the stacked bar, and then we tape it end-to-end so that it becomes a circle (like a wristband?).  If you&#039;ve worked out the measurements ahead of time, the circle on your handout can have the same circumference as the length of the stacked bar -- and then it can help the students to see the circle/bar relationship.

I also let them wear the paper wristbands out of class, which might not work in your high school setting.....]]></description>
