Dan – I’m intrigued by that book you refer to, The New Division of Labor….and I aspire to infuse some of these ideas in my classroom…not sure how familiar you are with the literature, but I notice there is another book with the same coauthors titled Teaching the New Basic Skills…If you have any opinion on which might be a better place to start for a first year math teacher, help me out.

I’d seen the processing’d flight data before, but I haven’t seen the actual data. Did you find it somewhere? Because that would be really rather neat to play with. (Also, neat roundup of infographics. Thanks!)
