While I&#039;ve always used a lapel mic hooked to an HD camera in the back of the room, I love your tip of using a simple digital recorder to record audio and then syncing it up in the timeline.  Gives me an idea about keeping the lapel on me but using the digital recorder closer to the audience to capture Q&#038;As better.
