I&#039;ll make a case – two reasons – why we should even both connecting math to the real world, why we shouldn&#039;t just pack that enterprise up and stick to pure math.

I&#039;ll define pseudocontext and pseudo-problem solving, the two most common ways we disrupt that connection between the real world and math. Those two syndromes represent a lot of why students feel like math has no meaning in their lives.

Then I&#039;ll define two ways we can make that connection between math and the real world stronger, tighter.

It&#039;s going to be a practical, heavily-illustrated talk. I hope that helps.]]></description>
