I was able to go, and saw some outstanding speakers. Didn't get to see you, but I did get to chat with you at lunch Saturday. Luckily, I've seen you speak a few times before, but when I mentioned to my homeroom students that I met someone who was in a TED talk, they all were excited that I'd met a celebrity and want to see your talk on Friday during homeroom.

I agree that it is a great conference. I've been to a few NCTM conferences, which were also great, but neither I nor my school have the budget for any such travel now, so CMC-North is all I get to attend these days. Every time I go, I find myself rejuvenated afterwards, and am always excited when I have something new that I can use immediately. That happened this time with Marla Mattenson's talk, and specifically a way to structure students' written reflection on assessments. I'm already trying it this week, and my students have been amazingly enthusiastic so far, even though it involves (ugh) writing.

Thanks Dan!

This is a great idea and will definitely check out what you put together. For what it's worth, I'm really interested in...all of them!

Great idea - Though I'm not in California, I'll be posting about my experiences at NCTM Chicago this week. I have the lofty goal of a post-per-talk I attend, but will definitely be summarizing some high points at a minimum.

Just curious why you are going to waste an hour listening to Dan Meyer talk. Don't you get enough of him on a daily basis? :) Have fun!
