Hi Dan

If youre not chockablock already I'd be really interested in anything you're doing in the UK. We've been trialling your resources in our department (at The Rochester Grammar School) to raise the standard of our teaching and engage our girls more in the beauty and excitement of mathematics. We're also a Thinking School so everything you've inspired us with has added to an open minded approach to learning and we and the girls LOVE it. Obviously we'd all like to meet you, so would be very interested if you fancy popping down to Kent, or if you arrange anything anywhere near London, I'm sure I (Lead Practitioner for Teaching and Learning in Maths) or our Director of Maths (Alison) would do our best to come say hi. We've been creating our own stuff along similar lines which we'd obviously love to share.

How do we get in touch?

Hi Dan

I've had the same problems as Bruno above. I'm really keen to see what I could do when you're here in England. If you could keep me updated as to your plans and any available opportunities it will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Back in 2007, I ordered their red and blue books from Shell Centre ("The Language of Functions and Graphs" and "Problems with Patterns and Numbers") -- love the books, worth the 21 GBP in shipping.

A win-win situation. Best to you, Dan.

Hi Dan,

I've tried sending you an email from 2 different addresses and I'm puzzled by the bounce-backs I'm getting.

"SMTP Server rejected recipient (Error following RCPT command). It responded as follows: [554 5.7.1 : Relay access denied]"

Do you have a different way I could get in touch, by any chance?

I *really* want to talk to you about the opportunities in England.

Kind regards,

Bruno

Dan, I've seen some of the Shell Centre materials at our annual Math Solutions consultant retreat. I'm impressed with the project and look forward to reading your thoughts about your work there. What work are you doing with the Shell Centre?

I taught maths in Notts County back in 2001-2002. It's a great city. Don't know if you're an ales man, but the Lincolnshire Poacher on Mansfield Road is one of the best pubs in all of central England. Great Cask Ales just north of city centre (not far from the Uni). No Castle in Nottingham--not a "sightseeing city" at all, but some of the greatest people.
