I wish I could go to your session, but my plane leaves at 12:00 on Saturday. So I’ll miss it. Is there any way I can get some of the resources you were planning on sharing at your session?

I wish I could attend a math conference one day. I am in my third year of teaching and have been to three 2-day teacher conferences which had very little math content (a good portion of this small amount is geared towards elementary and junior high).

The conferences I go to offer small seminars focused on a specific topic, to large lectures halls orated by someone who is either a comedian, victim of war, or someone working on educational psychology (these are actually the best use of my time at the conferences as the speaker is either funny or inspiring……………but they offer practical information in the same way my B.Ed. did…..which is they do not). If you register early, you can even learn how to make yoga pants. If I had to pay to go these, I wouldn’t go.

Wondering if and when NCTM will move the conference to June/July timeframe. With state testing this week, I just can’t make it this year. Of all the reasons to NOT be able to learn about math instruction…
